Brother Printer Won't Print: A Technical Guide
A number of scenarios are there that can stop your Brother printer from printing. Checking the printer status is the very first thing in this agenda. If you are facing a performance-related problem, you need to make sure that your Brother machine is turned on. Confirm that the LED indication or LCD display is not showing some error. If an error is appearing, follow the troubleshooting steps we have mentioned below. We are trying to discuss all the possible situations of the error denoted as Brother Printer Won't Print, but it is also possible that your error doesn’t fit in any of the given methods. In that case, you will have to make a direct conversation with the printing machine experts associated with Brother Industries.
Check that the Breather Tape is fully removed
The Breather Tape, which is also referred to as the shipping tape, has to be removed completely before you install the cartridge. Ink will remain vacuum sealed in the cartridge if you are not removing it entirely. So, we request you to remove the shipping tape first.
Is your cartridge running dry?
You are also supposed to make sure that your cartridge is not empty if you are claiming Brother Printer Won't Print. Replace it if you are getting the warning of the low ink level. If the cartridge is low on ink, it may introduce air into the print nozzle which will block your nozzles. Your printer won't be able to print under this situation.
Check the connection between printer and computer
Move with this troubleshooting step by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable on from both ends. Are you using a USB hub? Connecting your printer directly to the computer is a good idea in this regard. However, the USB cable you are using should be shielded and not longer than 2 meters. It also needs to support the twisted pair cable.
Does your printer is featured with CISS?
If your printing machine is CISS fitted, it is more likely to get printhead clogging. Such printers do not work with poor quality ink, and tanks introduce enough causing sediment at the bottom. If you are not getting any such problem, check whether the LED indication or LCD display is not showing any error.
Are you using poor quality ink cartridges?
Using the cartridge or cartridges with generic ink is not a good idea at all. It is recommended for you to make the use of printer-grade cartridges if you are not satisfied with the performance of your printing machine. Printer-grade inks actually contain various chemicals that maintain the correct ink flow and prevent the ink from drying.
