How to Change your Computer Login Password

In present scenario where rate of crime is increasing changing password every now and then is the need of an hour. There can be many reasons to change your password: It might be really easy to crack, too hard to remember, somebody must have known it or just to increase your security level.

So whatever is the reason if you are changing it that means you are quiet smart and intelligent.

However, the steps involved in changing your password differs depending upon which operating system you are using.

Computer Log In Password Changing Steps For Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP:-

  • Step 1: Go to the desktop of your computer and click on the Start menu button.
  • Step 2: Select Control Panel and open it.
  • Step 3: Select "User Accounts and Family Safety" and then User account.
  • Step 4: Click on manage another account.
  • Step 5: Choose the user you would like to change.
  • Step 6: Click on change the password.
  • Step 7: Enter Current Password and thereafter new password.
  • Step 8: Confirm the new password again.
  • Step 9: You can also type the password hint as this will come handy when you will forget your password.
  • Step 10: Now click on change password.

Computer Log In Password Changing Steps For Windows 10 and Windows 8:-

  • Step 1: Go to the desktop of your computer and using search bar (by pressing window button you will be able to go on that)
  • Step 2: Type sign-in-options in that search bar and choose the same from various options which are listed there.
  • Step 3: Under the password section, click on change
  • Step 4: Enter your current password in the first text box and then click next.
  • Step 5: Windows 10:--Enter your new password twice to verify that you have typed it correctly. You can optionally type a password hint, too, which will help remind you of your password if you forget it when logging in the future. After that click on next and your password is changed.

Windows 8:--- Enter your current password once more on the change your Microsoft account password screen, and then type your new password twice in the provided text boxes.

  • Step 6: Click on the next button.
  • Step 7: Click finish to exit the change your password.
